Church construction in relation to clergy sequence at St. Stephen's, Longview, Washington (thanks to work done by Constance Adams) February 19, 1928 - Francis called to be Vicar - Lots at present site
(22nd Ave., Longview) purchased October 20, 1935 - Samuelson assigned as Vicar - April 28, 1936. He was ordained Priest - July, 1940 - Samuelson leaves to become Rector of Episcopal Church in Bellingham. July 1, 1940 - Cotton called to be Rector. Entrance to building moved from East to North. New extension East with basement. Undercroft dug under main building (what is now the Parish Hall). Spring of 1950 - Cotton becomes assistant to Bishop Bayne. Spring, 1950 - Loftstrom becomes Rector - January, 1951 - New building is discussed with idea of building on lots purchased in 1942 and 1944. July, 1951 - Fund raiser was retained, architect began plans; March 1952 - Bids opened; April 1952 - Work begun; December 1952 - Dedication by Bishop Bayne; August - 1955, Lofstrom leaves. December 1955 - Fenton become Rector; Need for classrooms and cahpel resulted from study; January 1957 - Fund-raiser retained; July 1957 - Work begins; January, 1958 - Dedication of classrooms and chapel; July 1960, Westland as Curate; March, 1961 - Fenton leaves and Westlund leaves, too, three months later; Bishop Rhea is Locum Tenens. December 1961 - Stockwell called; June 1962, Osgood become Curate; July 1964 - Bristol becomes Curate; March 1966 - Ordained; July 1966 - Shulda and Dickson named to staff; March 1968 - Tomter Curate; March 1970 - Stockwell leaves, Burton is Locum Tenens. May 1970 - McLaughlan becomes Rector; December, 1971 - Jackson part time Assistant; August 1974 - Mikel was made Curate; July 1975 - Ordained to Priest; August 1976 - Glase joined as Deacon; December 1976 - McLaughlan leaves, Mikel named Locum Tenens. September 1977 - Brown installed Rector by Bishop Cochrane; October 1977 - Barnet selected as Associate; June 1979, Gehrig came on training; July 1979 - Gehrig ordained as Deacon; June 1980 - ordained as Priest; September 1983 - Besheer became Associate; February 1987 - Brown leaves, Eng named Interim Rector June 1988 - McNairy selected to be Rector
